Cardano Receives Free Blockchain API in Iagon Insight Public Launch
The Cardano blockchain has just received a new piece of shared infrastructure in the form of Iagon Insight, a decentralized storage and compute platform built on Cardano. According to an official announcement from July 26, 2026, Iagon Insight will open its API to every builder on the network in about six weeks.
Iagon Insight is a hosted Cardano API that allows developers to query it over the internet instead of running their own node. It returns standard JSON responses for balances, assets, transactions, chain health, and submission through one versioned endpoint. This API covers ground already served by Blockfrost, Maestro, and Koios, three existing Cardano-data providers teams currently rely on.
Iagon Insight is currently being used by enterprise partners such as Fireblocks, a digital asset custody platform that runs its custody, staking, governance, and native token workflows through the API. The public rollout will change who gets to use this tool, and it is one of the more practical pieces of Cardano news today for smaller teams.
The network frames this as a free Cardano-based blockchain API for the wider community, at no cost to the ecosystem's shared treasury. Full technical details, including documentation and onboarding support, are expected in the coming weeks.
