Cardano Revives DeFi Focus with Cheaper Smart Contracts and AlphaPepe's AI-Powered DEX
Cardano's recent upgrade to Protocol Version 11 has significantly reduced smart contract execution costs, making it more attractive for decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. The improved infrastructure is expected to boost DeFi usability and make applications more economical for developers and retail users.
The activation of the Van Rossem hard fork through Cardano's community-led Voltaire governance process introduced new Plutus functions and reduced smart-contract execution costs. This improvement matters because DeFi users perform repeated transactions across swaps, deposits, borrowing, rewards, and liquidity pools. High costs can make smaller positions uneconomical and discourage users from exploring applications.
AlphaPepe's AlphaSwap is a live intelligence-native decentralized exchange (DEX) that provides six AI risk feeds and route testing. This product addresses a problem cheaper smart contracts cannot solve by giving retail users more context before approving transactions. More than 5,000 demo users have already explored the live DEX before public exchange trading begins.
Cardano's lower transaction fees are complemented by AlphaPepe's intelligent routing system, which tests up to 1,000 liquidity paths per quote, comparing potential routes before a swap proceeds. This can reduce unnecessary slippage when tokens trade across several venues with different prices and depth.
