Cardano Seeks to Unlock Next Major Growth Opportunity for Bitcoin
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, believes that Bitcoin's next major growth opportunity could be unlocked through his project. He made this statement during an interview on Friday.
Hoskinson argued that Cardano's architecture gives it a competitive edge over other blockchain networks in attracting Bitcoin liquidity. According to him, Cardano can support Bitcoin through a non-custodial, trustless mechanism while maintaining tax neutrality, which is difficult to achieve on account-based blockchains.
He highlighted Midnight, Cardano's privacy-focused sidechain, as a key feature that could enable private Bitcoin lending and other decentralized finance applications without exposing users' holdings or transaction history. This capability, Hoskinson said, could attract long-term Bitcoin holders seeking to earn yield while preserving privacy.
The Cardano founder also emphasized the upcoming Leios upgrade, which is expected to increase transaction throughput by roughly 60 times while enhancing scalability and interoperability. He stated that this upgrade would strengthen Cardano's foundation for defi and institutional adoption.
