Cardano Sees Massive Liquidation Imbalance Amid Interest Rate Hopes and Inflation Fears

Cardano (ADA) faced a 1,085% liquidation imbalance after continued selling forced long traders who were betting on a price increase out of leveraged positions. The cryptocurrency's price dropped to $0.20 in the last 24 hours, resulting in over $2 million of leveraged Cardano positions being liquidated.

The liquidations came as a result of growing expectations that the Fed might raise interest rates alongside renewed inflation concerns, which triggered a selloff in the markets with Cardano falling in tandem. The Consumer Price Index rose 0.4% in August, in line with economists' forecasts, and is the final major inflation indicator the Fed will see before its policy meeting next week.

Cardano upgrades, including Dijkstra preparations, have gained traction, but it's unclear how this will impact the market in the long term.
