Cardano (CRYPTO: ADA) has fallen from its all-time high of $3 in September 2021 to just $0.20 in 2026, a steep 94% decline.

The blockchain project failed to become the next Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH), particularly in decentralized finance (DeFi), which is considered one of the most important areas of the crypto world.

Cardano ranks 36th in total value locked (TVL), a key metric used to determine overall DeFi strength, and has not made significant progress in stablecoins or real-world asset tokenization.

Competitors like Solana (CRYPTO: SOL) have outperformed Cardano, with Ethereum down 17% for the year, Solana down 18%, and Cardano down a whopping 41%.
