Cardano Supply Chain Verification Anchors 500K Records for Brazilian Exporters
The Cardano Foundation and Brazilian blockchain firm Blockforce have launched a supply chain verification system for Brazilian exporters. This innovative platform, built on top of the Cardano blockchain, has already anchored over 500,000 records onto the network.
The system is designed to help exporters comply with EU deforestation regulations by providing a secure and transparent way to verify their supply chains. The architecture uses a dual-ledger approach, combining Hyperledger Fabric for sensitive data and Cardano's public blockchain for storing cryptographic proofs of those underlying records.
Azzas 2154, Latin America's largest fashion conglomerate, is already using the platform to monitor its leather supply chain spanning over 6,200 suppliers. The system has processed over 95,000 invoices in production, achieving a significant reduction in per-record anchoring costs through Blockforce's uVerify batching protocol.
The contracted volume between Cardano Foundation and Blockforce stipulates 6.5 million records anchored by 2030, with plans to expand the use case into automotive and pharmaceutical supply chains.
