Cardano Targets Dijkstra Era Rollout Between December 2026 and March 2027
The Cardano blockchain is gearing up for its Dijkstra era, a significant development cycle that will bring new features and capabilities to the platform. The Dijkstra rollout has been divided into two phases: Phase 1 introduces Linear Leios with Nested Transactions, aiming for deployment on the mainnet by the end of 2026.
Phase 2 will introduce Peras, scheduled to activate in a separate intra-era hard fork in the second quarter of 2027. Intersect, which oversees Cardano’s research, development, and governance, stated that preparations for the Dijkstra era hard fork are progressing steadily.
A series of four major Haskell node releases are set to drive incremental adoption of Dijkstra features. Each release will offer various functionalities, moving Cardano closer to a full-scale era upgrade.
