Cardano has announced plans for a two-phase rollout of its Dijkstra era upgrade. This enhancement aims to significantly improve network throughput and user experience, according to the project's developers.

The first phase is set to target Q4 2026, with several key improvements including nested transactions and account-address enhancements. As noted by CryptoTwitter commentator @WuBlockchain, this upgrade could position Cardano favorably in the competitive blockchain landscape.

Phase 1 will introduce Ouroboros Linear Leios (CIP-164), which will improve transaction speeds through supplementary Endorser Blocks. The introduction of guard scripts and easier staking-reward withdrawals are also key components of this phase. Phase 2, targeting Q2 2027, will add a stake-pool voting layer to accelerate settlement processes.
