Cardano Unveils Two-Phase Scaling Roadmap for Dijkstra Era
Cardano has laid out its two-phase roadmap for scaling improvements in the Dijkstra era, a research-heavy phase that prioritizes correctness and long-term architecture. The first phase, targeting code completion by Q4 2026, focuses on Linear Leios and nested transactions. These upgrades aim to increase throughput and reduce developer friction.
Linear Leios is designed to improve Cardano's transaction processing capabilities, allowing the network to handle more activity without compromising its consensus design. Nested transactions could give developers more flexibility in structuring and processing transactions, which can be beneficial for complex applications like DeFi and multi-step workflows.
The second phase, scheduled for Q2 2027, involves Ouroboros Peras, a protocol-level change aimed at improving settlement and finality dynamics. This could result in faster or more reliable finality, enhancing user experience and application design.
