Cardano's ADA Token Holds Steady Ahead of Crucial Upgrade
Cardano's ADA token has been holding steady at around $0.16 despite the broader weakness in the crypto market, which saw Bitcoin touch $64,000.
This stability is significant because it coincides with a key technical level for ADA, and comes as Charles Hoskinson, Cardano's developer, prepares to implement an upgrade that he claims could make the network 60 times faster.
Hoskinson also drew attention to Cardano's governance system, comparing it favorably to Bitcoin's approach. He argued that Bitcoin's 'frozen in time' governance creates a greater vulnerability than quantum computing itself, and contrasted this with Cardano's on-chain voting system, which he said could coordinate a timely shift toward quantum-resistant cryptography.
However, the current market has not reflected these developments in ADA's price, and the token remains within a multi-year downtrend that began after its 2021 peak above $3.00. A move above $0.20 would be crucial for ADA to reclaim lost ground, with potential targets at $0.23 and $0.314.
