Cardano's ADA Token Plummets Amid Macro Risk-Off and Leverage
Cardano's ADA token dropped by around 4.5% over the last day, largely due to a broader market shift towards risk-off and amplified by derivatives leverage.
The total crypto market cap fell from $2.69 trillion to $2.62 trillion in 24 hours, a decline of about 2.3%, while trading volume rose around 8%.
This macro-driven selloff was triggered by hotter US inflation data, an additional 25 bp European Central Bank rate hike, surging crude oil prices back near or above $100, and rising US yields.
In this environment, Bitcoin held up relatively better than major altcoins, while names like Ethereum, XRP, Solana, and others saw sharper 3-5% drops, consistent with a 'rotate to quality' dynamic.
