Cardano's Chang Hard Fork Aims to Revolutionize Decentralized Governance
Cardano is gearing up for its biggest upgrade in two years, dubbed the 'Chang hard fork'. This major overhaul will reshape the network's structure and introduce on-chain governance features. The upgrade aims to give ADA token holders a say in proposals and technical changes through elected representatives.
The delay of this significant update was pushed back from this week to September 1 by Charles Hoskinson, Cardano's creator and co-founder of Ethereum. He cited the importance of deadlines, stating that 'The magic of deadlines is that people who aren't taking upgrades seriously suddenly say damn we got to get moving.'
The hard fork will invalidate older versions of the network and bring major changes for users and developers. Cardano's on-chain governance system will allow ADA token holders to elect representatives, who will vote on proposals and technical changes.
