Cardano's DeFi Funding Proposal Injects New Life into ADA
The Cardano (ADA) community has made significant progress in addressing its DeFi liquidity problem. On August 12, the DRep community successfully advanced a $120 million Cardano Prime DeFi funding proposal past approval, and the treasury is committing capital to fix the issue. This move has injected new life into ADA, with prices rising by 0.29% on August 19 to trade at $0.17493.
Despite this positive development, analysts remain cautious as price grinds through a rare stretch of consecutive red days. However, a bullish divergence is building on lower timeframes, which could potentially signal a reversal in the trend. The native stablecoin market cap has also crossed $62.5 million, up roughly 55% since USDCX launched, with USDCX holding $44 million in reserves.
ADA's price action is currently trading within an ascending wedge, with all four EMAs above the price line. This technical setup indicates that ADA may be due for a breakout or reversal. The 50-day EMA at $0.17927 and 20-day EMA at $0.17989 are sitting in a tight cluster, suggesting a potential short-term trend change.
