Cardano's Dijkstra Era Gears Up for Major Milestones
The Cardano blockchain is gearing up for significant milestones in the coming months, with its Dijkstra era development reaching key phases. According to Intersect, a recent report highlighted that work towards the Dijkstra era hard fork continues to advance across node development, ecosystem readiness, and downstream tooling.
Upcoming Haskell node releases will unlock early Dijkstra functionality for testing, starting with Cardano-node-11.1.1 expected by September 7 for Mainnet usage. This release removes the legacy tracing system and fixes known Genesis issues.
The next major node release is anticipated in less than a month, Cardano-node-11.2 will contain the Dijkstra feature set but not be the hard fork release candidate. It will include all features except Leios elements, which are limited to consensus and block production. This should not impact testing and development against other Dijkstra features.
Cardano-node-12.0 is targeted as the definitive hard fork node release with its launch timeline not yet determined.
