Cardano's Dijkstra Era Rolls Out Major Updates in 2026-2027
The Cardano ecosystem is gearing up for major milestones in the coming months, according to recent updates from Intersect. The Dijkstra era is expected to introduce significant changes, including Linear Leios with Nested Transactions and Peras. Phase 1 of the rollout, which includes Nested Transactions and Linear Leios, aims to be delivered to Mainnet by the end of 2026.
The current plan is for a two-phase rollout, with Phase 2 (Peras) scheduled for an intra-era hard fork in Q2 2027. Intersect has highlighted key developments across node development, ecosystem readiness, and downstream tooling. Upcoming Haskell node releases will unlock early Dijkstra functionality for testing.
Cardano-node-11.1.1 is expected to be released by September 7, with Cardano-node-11.2 containing the Dijkstra feature set, ready for testing, but not the hard fork release candidate. Cardano-node-11.3 will be the hard fork release candidate, capable of crossing the hard fork and containing all Dijkstra functionality.
