Cartel Crypto Rigs Uncovered in Mexican Raids

Authorities in Central Mexico have uncovered an extensive cryptocurrency mining operation linked to terrorist cartels. The discovery was made after Mexican authorities received information about large energy draws in a rural area of Puebla.

A series of flyovers with drones revealed a large-scale computing facility hidden in the area, used for both crypto mining and money laundering. In the first raid last week, security forces seized 300 graphics processing units (GPUs), 80 medium voltage terminals, and eight satellite antennas.

During a second search this week, authorities found approximately 900 additional GPUs, more antennas, and various electronic and communications equipment. The discovery is the fourth of its kind in Central Mexico since last year, all located near a hydroelectric dam in Puebla's northern region.
