Casper Bridges Tokenized Assets with AstralBeam
MAKE Group has launched AstralBeam, a cross-chain bridge that connects the Casper blockchain to several other networks. These include Robinhood Chain, Base, Ethereum, and Polygon. The primary goal of this bridge is to enable tokenized real-world assets to move between these networks without losing compliance rules attached to them.
The launch comes at a time when tokenized securities are gaining traction. Over $32 billion in assets have been tokenized under the ERC-3643 standard, which is widely used across regulated finance. Apex Group, an asset servicer managing $3.5 trillion in assets, has committed to bringing $100 billion in tokenized assets onto the T-REX Ledger by 2027.
AstralBeam addresses a gap in current cross-chain bridges. These bridges often don't preserve compliance rules once tokens leave their native network. The bridge allows regulated tokenized securities, such as shares of companies like Netflix and Amazon, to move from brokerage environments into Casper-based DeFi platforms where they can serve as collateral or sit in real-world-asset vaults.
The bridge also incorporates a messaging layer aligned with ERC-7786, an interoperability standard being adopted by the T-REX Network. This shared standard could set up an easier path for connecting Casper directly to T-REX and even enable distribution of regulated assets through T-REX Lite deployments.
Joachim Lebrun, CTO and co-founder of T-REX Network, comments on the significance of AstralBeam's alignment with ERC-7786. 'Interoperability between regulated asset networks will increasingly depend on open standards rather than bespoke integrations.'
