Cathie Wood Calls for Trusted Access to AI Models for Bitcoin Defenders
Veteran investor Cathie Wood has voiced her support for Bitcoin Policy's open letter urging AI labs to aid 'open-source defenders.' The letter, signed by a broad coalition from the digital-asset ecosystem, calls for trusted access to frontier models. According to the Institute, digital-asset defenders, including Bitcoin Core developers, lack access to approved cybersecurity research programs and are hindered by guardrails on real security work.
Wood described Bitcoin as 'critical public financial infrastructure' and emphasized that those securing it should have access to the most powerful AI models available. She views AI as a powerful defensive technology and argues that frontier AI could become one of the most powerful technologies ever developed if defenders get fair access.
The Ark Invest founder has been a strong advocate for AI, which she believes has already sparked a 'technology revolution.' Her firm targets AI exposure and has purchased shares in Nvidia Corp. (NVDA) worth around $26.6 million on Monday via its exchange-traded funds.
