Cathie Wood Sees Endless Potential in Blockchain Innovation
Cathie Wood, CEO of Ark Invest, remains optimistic about blockchains despite their long existence. According to her, new blockchain launches will continue.
An analysis by Lorenzo Valiente, Director of Research at Ark Invest, compared Ethereum (ETH) and other blockchains to fast food chains. In the analogy, Ethereum maps to McDonald's Corp.'s business model, where it owns the brand, operating system, and 'real estate', blockspace plus the Layer 1 settlement guarantee that Layer 2 chains rely on.
Solana (SOL) is compared to Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc., as Solana has all activity concentrated on its Layer 1 chain with no middleware or L2 layer. Hyperliquid is likened to In-N-Out Burger, a privately held company with a small menu and never franchised.
Wood said that Valiente's analysis provides a 'digestible framework' for understanding different business models. Blockchains have been around for over a decade, and more will launch, she added.
