Cboe Seeks SEC Approval for Six 3x Leveraged ETFs Including Bitcoin and Ether Funds

Cboe Global Markets has filed with the SEC to list six 3x leveraged exchange-traded funds (ETFs), including products tied to Bitcoin and Ether.

The proposed ETFs would primarily gain exposure through futures contracts rather than directly holding the underlying assets, and would reset their exposure daily. They would operate as registered commodity pools under regulatory oversight.

Cboe is seeking separate SEC approval for these funds due to their 3x daily return target, which falls outside existing listing standards. The exchange argues that the funds can meet regulatory concerns by relying on regulated derivatives markets and surveillance-sharing arrangements.
