Cboe Seeks SEC Approval for Triple-Leveraged Bitcoin, Ethereum ETFs
Cboe has initiated the process for SEC approval to list six leveraged commodity exchange-traded funds (ETFs) based on Bitcoin, Ethereum, gold, silver, crude oil, and natural gas.
The proposed ETFs will have a leverage of three times the daily performance of their respective benchmarks. This means profits and losses will be tripled when the asset drops in price, making these instruments suitable for trading purposes rather than long-term investments.
Volatility Shares LLC will sponsor the proposed ETFs, which will be based on the VS Trust platform. The firm has prior experience providing leveraged crypto asset products, including 2x Bitcoin and Ether strategy ETFs in the U.S.
