CCI, Blockchain Association Sue Over Proposed Illinois Digital Asset Tax
The CryptoCurrency Institute (CCI) and Blockchain Association have filed a lawsuit against Illinois state officials over a proposed 0.2% digital asset tax.
The complaint alleges that the tax is unconstitutional and unfairly targets cryptocurrency holders.
The CCI and Blockchain Association argue that the tax would be a significant burden on the growing crypto community in Illinois, which includes major players such as Chicago-based FTX US.
