Celo Brings Free USA₮ Stablecoins to Verified Users via Google Cloud Faucet

Celo has partnered with Google Cloud and Self to launch the USA₮ Mainnet Faucet, allowing verified users to claim free USA₮ stablecoins. The initiative uses proof-of-human identity technology to distribute Tether-backed stablecoins to eligible participants worldwide.

The USA₮ stablecoin is issued through Anchorage Digital Bank and is designed for compliance with the U.S. GENIUS Act, targeting domestic settlement and institutional use cases. As of August 20, 2026, USA₮ holds a market cap of approximately $184.1 million and trades near its $1 peg at $0.999014.

Celo becomes the second network to host native USA₮ after Ethereum, and the faucet integrates zero-knowledge (ZK) proof technology via Self to ensure user privacy during identity verification. Users can verify their eligibility using government-issued IDs without transmitting raw personal data.
