Celo Unveils USA₮ Mainnet Faucet, Bringing Free Stablecoins to Verified Users
Celo has launched the USA₮ Mainnet Faucet in partnership with Google Cloud and Self. This new initiative enables verified users worldwide to claim free USA₮ stablecoins, which are backed by Tether and issued through Anchorage Digital Bank.
The USA₮ stablecoin is designed for compliance with the U.S. GENIUS Act, making it suitable for domestic settlement and institutional use cases. With a market cap of approximately $184.1 million and trading near its $1 peg at $0.999014, USA₮ is positioning itself as a key player in the stablecoin sector.
The Mainnet Faucet leverages zero-knowledge (ZK) proof technology via Self to ensure user privacy during identity verification. Users can verify their eligibility using government-issued IDs without transmitting raw personal data. Verified participants receive an initial 0.5 USA₮ directly to their Celo wallet at no cost, with additional rewards for sending and holding balances.
