CertiK Expands into Japan with AI-Driven Risk Profiling Platform
CertiK, a web3 security firm, has officially entered Japan's market during the WebX conference in Tokyo. The company unveiled CertiK Surveillance, an AI-driven risk-profiling platform designed for institutional crypto markets.
The launch marks a strategic shift from one-time audits to real-time monitoring of crypto assets. This move is significant given Japan's recent regulatory overhaul, which reclassified 105 major crypto assets as financial instruments under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act.
Strict custody rules in Japan require exchanges to store more than 95% of customer assets in cold storage and comply with on/off-chain risks. CertiK Surveillance is designed to combat growing threats such as physical coercion attacks, which surged 33% in H1 2026 with $124M exposure.
