CFTC Ready with Crypto Rules, Even Without Clarity Bill
U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Michael Selig stated that his agency has developed rule proposals for regulating crypto markets, dubbed the Clarity Act, and is ready to move forward with them even if Congress stalls on passing the bill.
The comments came during a recent interview, in which Selig emphasized that the CFTC's proposed rules are 'ready to go' and will be implemented regardless of whether the Clarity Act becomes law.
The agency has been working on these rule proposals as part of its efforts to provide clarity and guidance for the rapidly evolving crypto market. The CFTC aims to ensure a level playing field and mitigate risks associated with trading in digital assets.
