CFTC Works on U.S. Path for Hyperliquid Amid Regulatory Optimism
The White House has confirmed that the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is working on a U.S. compliance path for Hyperliquid, according to President Donald J. Trump's comments at a meeting with crypto industry leaders.
The CFTC chair, Michael Selig, is reportedly working to bring Hyperliquid into the United States in a fully compliant and legal fashion, which has sparked optimism among traders.
HYPE, the token associated with Hyperliquid, saw its price jump 21.58% to $71.35 on August 19, following Trump's statement.
The CFTC had previously received a self-certification from Coinbase Derivatives for listing 'HYPE Perp Style Futures' in May, which sets an intended first trade date of June 8, 2026.
