Chainalysis Accused of Double Standard by Tornado Cash Developer
Roman Storm, developer of Tornado Cash, claims Chainalysis earned fees as a Tornado Cash relayer in 2022. This revelation came hours after a federal judge pushed his second trial to April 26, 2027.
The court records in Storm's case show that Chainalysis provided the type of service that enabled people to withdraw funds from a crypto mixer without revealing their wallet addresses. This service, known as a relayer, is an intermediary function that allows users to interact with Tornado Cash.
Storm points out that while he was being prosecuted over software he helped create, Chainalysis was profiting from Tornado Cash transactions. Storm's complaint highlights the double standard in how his case and Chainalysis' involvement are being handled.
