Chainalysis Challenges $94.7M Government Contract Awarded to Rival TRM Labs

Chainalysis has filed a lawsuit against the US government over a $94.7M contract awarded to rival blockchain analytics company TRM Labs.

The case, which was filed in the US Court of Federal Claims on August 17, 2026, challenges the way the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) handled the procurement process.

Chainalysis is seeking to stop the contract from moving forward while challenging the government's decision to award the work directly to TRM Labs without a competitive bidding process.

The dispute highlights growing competition between Chainalysis and TRM Labs, both of which provide technology used by government agencies to investigate cryptocurrency transactions and financial crime.
