Chainalysis Challenges ICE Blockchain Contract Awarded to TRM Labs
Chainalysis has filed a bid protest against the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency's sole-source award to TRM Labs for a contract valued at $94,655,840. The dispute concerns the procurement of blockchain-forensics software and support services for Homeland Security Task Force investigations.
The case was filed in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims on July 27, challenging the contract awarded to TRM Labs on July 1. Chainalysis alleges that ICE assessed its capabilities against criteria not included in the final Statement of Need used for the procurement.
According to a court docket listing, the company is asking the court to block performance of the TRM Labs contract and require ICE to conduct a full and open competition. The dispute centers on whether ICE followed proper procedures in awarding the contract.
