Chainalysis Challenges US Government Contract Awarded to Rival TRM Labs
Chainalysis Government Solutions is taking legal action against the U.S. government over a contract awarded to rival blockchain analytics firm TRM Labs.
The company alleges that the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) failed to follow normal competitive procurement procedures when awarding the exclusive contract to TRM Labs.
Chainalysis is seeking to block the contract, which was awarded without a bidding process, according to the lawsuit filed in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
The court has imposed a protective order due to the potential for competition-sensitive information to be disclosed in the case.
TRM Labs has joined the proceedings as a defendant-intervenor, supporting the U.S. government in the dispute.
Oral arguments are set for September 2, 2026.
