Chainalysis Flags Over 7,700 Suspect Crypto Accounts in Global Investigation
Chainalysis, a blockchain analytics firm, has flagged over 7,700 suspect accounts in its global investigation into cryptocurrency activity linked to child sexual abuse material. Operation Lighthouse, which involved multiple law enforcement agencies and private-sector partners, generated 14,300 investigative leads across 125 countries.
The multi-day operation examined 29,120 cryptocurrency addresses and digital identifiers, tracing activity across more than 100 platforms and networks. This included consumers, vendors, marketplace operators, and administrators linked to suspected networks.
Chainalysis cautioned that the figures represent investigative leads and do not indicate confirmed convictions. The firm also reported identifying 16 registered sex offenders among the flagged accounts.
