Chainalysis Sues US Government Over $94.66M Contract Awarded to TRM Labs

A long-standing contract between TRM Labs and US government agency ICE has sparked controversy as Chainalysis takes to the courts, challenging the decision to award a lucrative $94.66 million blockchain analytics contract without a competitive bidding process.

According to a case filed in the US Court of Federal Claims, Chainalysis alleges that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) favored TRM Labs over its rival.

The one-year award from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, is worth $94.66 million and aims to support the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations, Homeland Security Task Force National Coordination Center Cyber Disruption Center through analytical services.
