Chainalysis Sues US Government Over $94.7 Million Contract Awarded to Rival TRM Labs

Share

Chainalysis Government Solutions has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government over a $94.7 million contract awarded to rival blockchain intelligence company TRM Labs by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The contract, worth up to $94.66 million, runs through June 30, 2027.

According to public procurement records, ICE used sole-source procedures to award the contract to TRM Labs on July 1 for analytical support to the Homeland Security Task Force National Coordination Center Cyber Disruption Center.

Chainalysis claims that DHS/ICE skipped normal competition and handed the work straight to TRM, violating federal contracting rules. The company is asking the court to stop the award and has filed its motion for judgment under seal on August 11.
