Chainflip Halts Network After Tron Parsing Bug Exploit Drains $736K
Chainflip's network has been halted after an attacker exploited a Tron USDT parsing bug, draining $736K from its Tron settlement path on September 12.
The team confirmed that impacted users will be made whole once operations resume. The loss is Chainflip's first significant critical security event, and the project described it as its strongest chain launch to date, with over $25 million in volume across 956 swaps in its first month of operation on Tron.
The attacker repeated a 'duplicate-swipe' trick eight times in 90 minutes, extracting funds from the Tron settlement path. The team has flagged the moved funds and is working on a secure restart to prevent further unauthorized payouts.
