Chainlink Accumulates $1.12M Worth of LINK Tokens Amid Ongoing Buyback Strategy
Chainlink, a leading decentralized oracle network, has executed another buyback of its native LINK token. The project transferred 127,740 LINK, worth approximately $1.12 million, to a dedicated reserve wallet. This brings the reserve's total holdings to 5.48 million LINK, valued at roughly $48.5 million at current prices.
The average acquisition cost for these tokens stands at $11.14 per LINK, indicating that Chainlink is accumulating its token at levels it deems favorable. This buyback is part of the project's ongoing strategy to manage its token supply and demonstrate confidence in the network's long-term value.
Token buybacks are a common mechanism in traditional finance, where companies repurchase their own shares to boost shareholder value. In the crypto space, token buybacks serve a similar purpose: they can reduce supply, potentially increasing scarcity, and often act as a bullish signal to investors.
