Chainlink Brings Official US Economic Data on Chain

Chainlink's oracle network has expanded to include six official US economic data streams across 10 public blockchains. The Department of Commerce uses Chainlink's network, publishing growth, inflation, and private demand figures from the Bureau of Economic Analysis in formats that smart contracts can read.

The six feeds cover three indicators: real GDP, the PCE Price Index, and real final sales to private domestic purchasers. Each indicator has one feed for its level and another for its annualized quarterly change.

Chainlink listed several potential applications of this data, including prediction markets, inflation-protected instruments, perpetual futures, and automated trading instruments.
