Chainlink Brings US Economic Data to Ten Public Blockchains
Chainlink has partnered with the US Department of Commerce to bring official US economic figures to ten public blockchains. This partnership was established in August 2025 and provides access to three key measures: real GDP, the Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index, and real final sales to private domestic purchasers.
The data feeds come from the US Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), which publishes closely watched economic reports. Through its work with the Department of Commerce, Chainlink makes six data feeds available to blockchain applications: two for each measure - one showing the latest reported level and another showing the change during the quarter.
The supported chains are Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Botanix, Ethereum, Linea, Mantle, Optimism, Sonic, and ZKsync. This enables developers to create financial products with terms that change in response to changes in inflation or economic growth, as well as lending platforms to use the information when varying their risk controls.
The data feeds could also be used for a prediction market that allows participants to forecast GDP growth or inflation, settling when the latest government figures are released. However, it is unclear at this time how many applications currently rely on these feeds.
