Chainlink Integrates Price Feeds for Tokenized Apple and Nvidia Stocks on Base Blockchain
Chainlink has integrated price feeds for tokenized versions of Apple (AAPL) and Nvidia (NVDA) stocks on the Base blockchain. This enables DeFi lending platforms to accept these tokenized equities as borrowing collateral.
The integration is a result of Coinbase's introduction of four tokenized securities, including NVDAc, METAc, AAPLc, and GOOGLc, which represent ownership stakes in major technology companies. These tokens are issued by Coinbase Onchain SPV Ltd., an Abu Dhabi-regulated entity, and are backed by physical shares secured in isolated custody arrangements.
Chainlink's oracle mechanism delivers total return valuations for each B20 token, combining current stock market prices with adjustment multipliers sourced from Coinbase's blockchain-based oracle registry. This ensures that DeFi protocols receive precise valuation metrics, enabling lending platforms to establish borrowing thresholds and execute liquidation procedures when collateral valuations decline.
Aave, Morpho, and Euler are among the DeFi platforms integrating support for B20 tokenized assets, while Aerodrome facilitates liquidity provision for these tokenized equities. Decentralized exchanges such as 0x, 1inch, KyberSwap, and CoW Swap also enable trading functionality.
