Chainlink Powers Hong Kong's Tokenized Securities Framework
The Hong Kong government has partnered with Chainlink to power its new tokenized securities framework. The framework uses Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Automated Compliance Engine (ACE) for interoperability and compliance functions. This partnership will enable the secure transfer of assets between onchain and offchain environments while maintaining regulatory compliance.
According to FORMS HK CEO Alex Chan, this new platform will establish the infrastructure needed to connect new technologies with regulated market operations. The framework uses the ERC-3643 token standard at the start, allowing for compliance to sit inside the tokens themselves.
The integration of Chainlink's CCIP has also seen a significant milestone, surpassing $16 billion in transferred value and securing major enterprise integrations. BitGo selected CCIP as its new bridging provider, migrating more than $7.7 billion worth of wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) from its older bridging service.
Chainlink's institutional momentum continues to grow, with Grayscale featuring the company as one of their most lucrative Exchange Traded Product (ETP). Grayscale Head of Research Zach Pandl believes that institutions will need this technology, with Chainlink 'right at the center'.
