Chainlink Price at Fork in the Road After Breakout Move
Chainlink's price has been in focus after pulling off a breakout move that cleared a key level it had struggled to surpass for weeks. The token is now sitting at a crucial juncture, testing whether its recent surge was genuine or just a trap.
A strong Q2 2026 quarter behind Chainlink, with total value secured reaching $110 billion and over $7 billion in crypto migrated onto its cross-chain interoperability protocol CCIP, adds fundamental support to this price action. However, the short-term technical picture is playing out separately.
The token's liquidation data shows longs absorbing most of the forced closures during the pullback, indicating a one-sided flush that can clear out late breakout chasers before the market decides its next direction. Meanwhile, cumulative net inflow into LINK spot ETF has held steady to modestly positive through this stretch.
Chainlink's price is currently testing the zone it broke out from, and if it holds support around current levels and later closes above $8.764 on a 4-hour chart, that would confirm the breakout was genuine, opening room toward $9.312 first, with $9.686 as the extended target.
However, if Chainlink breaks and closes below $8.265, that would undo the retest hold and shift focus down to $8.006, with $7.789 as the next support if that also gives way.
