Chainlink Solidifies Its Role as Core DeFi Infrastructure
Chainlink is solidifying its position as foundational infrastructure for decentralized finance (DeFi) by partnering with key protocols like Aave, Lido, and others. The company's data feeds and cross-chain messaging have enabled more than $27 trillion in transaction value across over 70 blockchains by December 2025.
Aave has expanded its integration of Chainlink to include V4 markets, governance, and GHO transfers, showcasing the protocol's reliance on Chainlink for market data and automation. Lido uses Chainlink for cross-chain staking, making liquid-staking assets more usable across lending and trading applications.
Other integrations include lending platforms like Compound and Kamino, derivatives venues including GMX, and interoperability for Maple Finance. This expansion highlights the need for DeFi protocols to move beyond basic swaps and lending toward more sophisticated financial markets.
