Chainlink Surges 13.6%, Monero Rises 8.3% Amid Quiet Altcoin Season Index
The altcoin season index has been quiet this week due to a lack of breadth in the market. Despite Chainlink's impressive 13.6% weekly gain and Monero's 8.3% rise, only two names stood out against the losses suffered by Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, and Uniswap.
Chainlink posted its strongest week among the majors, reaching $9.35 after a 13.6% increase over seven days. Its market value now stands at $7.00 billion. Monero gained 8.3% to $411.07, with privacy coins collectively holding $16.28 billion.
The altcoin season index measures the number of large-cap altcoins that have outperformed Bitcoin over a rolling window. However, this week's numbers suggest it is still not an altcoin season. The sector remains quiet, with only two winners and four losers among the top names.
