Chainlink Surges 5% as Partnerships Unlock Cross-Chain Payments
Chainlink's LINK token price rose by about 5% over the past day to trade between $11.68 and $11.84, following two key announcements from the company. The first partnership is with fintech firm Bottomline, which processes more than $16 trillion in payments each year for over 600 banking clients. Chainlink will act as an interoperability layer, connecting Bottomline's existing systems to public and private blockchains.
The second announcement involves the launch of Chainlink Data Feeds on Tempo, a stablecoin payments blockchain backed by Stripe and Paradigm. This integration gives Tempo applications access to market prices without building their own oracle systems. Developers can use the data for collateral valuation, exchange-rate checks, treasury management, and risk controls.
Chainlink's partnership with Bottomline is significant, as it unlocks cross-chain and cross-border payments for Bottomline's banking clients. The company's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol and Runtime Environment will coordinate payment workflows between banks and blockchain networks.
