Chainlink Taps $16 Trillion Payments Giant Bottomline for Blockchain Integration
Top-three Swift service provider Bottomline has partnered with Chainlink to connect its $16 trillion annual payments network to public and private blockchains.
The partnership allows over 600 bank customers to access blockchain settlement without replacing their existing systems, using ISO 20022 messaging for payment instructions.
Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) will handle transfers of tokenized value across blockchain networks, while its Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) coordinates the full payment workflow between traditional banking systems and the blockchain layer.
The deal follows a string of institutional Chainlink integrations with major financial institutions including Swift, JPMorgan, UBS, ANZ, BNY Mellon, and the Abu Dhabi-based ADI Foundation.
