Chainlink Unlocks DeFi Utility for Coinbase's Tokenized Stocks
Coinbase has partnered with Chainlink to expand the utility of tokenized stocks on its Base platform. The integration brings continuous pricing to Coinbase's tokenized stocks, allowing developers to use them in lending, borrowing, trading, and other decentralized finance applications.
Tokenized equities, including NVDAc, METAc, AAPLc, and GOOGLc, are now available on Base with each token backed by one underlying share. Alpaca holds the shares under regulated custody within the Abu Dhabi Global Market framework, while Coinbase serves as the issuer.
The partnership aims to make tokenized equities more useful across applications rather than limiting them to standalone assets. Chainlink provides the pricing layer, while Base provides the blockchain environment for those applications.
The integration also supports tokenized equities as collateral across lending markets and decentralized exchanges. Structured product platforms can integrate the assets into new financial services on Base.
