Chainlink Unveils Ambitious Plan to Power Tokenized Finance
Chainlink aims to become the operating system for tokenized finance by providing data feeds, cross-chain messaging, and settlement tools for banks. According to a Messari report from November 2025, Chainlink powers over 80% of data feeds and interoperability tools used across real-world asset markets.
The network has grown beyond its origins as a decentralized oracle network, now handling cross-chain settlement, identity checks, and compliance. By mid-July 2026, Chainlink's tracker showed the network had enabled over $32 trillion in total transaction value since launch.
Two key components drive this strategy: Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE). CCIP enables safe token and data transfer between blockchains, with Aave and Mantle using it for cross-chain transfers. CRE links legacy financial systems to blockchain applications, with DTCC building it into its Collateral AppChain.
