Chainlink Whale Transactions Surge to Five-Month High

Chainlink (LINK) is experiencing its strongest surge in large-holder activity in five months. Whale transactions have been increasing, with 246 transfers totaling at least $100,000 recorded in a single day, according to Santiment data.

This marks a significant shift from the lower whale activity seen for most of the preceding weeks. The number of LINK transactions totaling $100,000 or more has increased daily since March.

The current spike is given more weight by accompanying supply data, which shows that large wallets have been building up their LINK holdings. Approximately 466.31 million tokens are currently controlled by wallets holding between 100,000 and 10 million LINK, amounting to 46.57% of Chainlink's total supply.

The accumulation has a solid fundamental backdrop as well, with Chainlink growing beyond its conventional oracle role through the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). This places LINK in close proximity to areas that are attracting significant institutional attention, such as tokenized assets and stablecoins.
