Chainlink's Bullish Stance Tested by Plummeting On-Chain Activity
Chainlink's recent rally in price has been largely independent of its on-chain activity. Over the past day, LINK rose 3.36%, bucking the trend of a declining market. However, this uptick is precarious due to Chainlink's sharp drop in transaction count and user activity.
Data from Artemis reveals that Chainlink's Transaction Count plummeted from 5.2 million to 386,600, its lowest level so far this year. Meanwhile, the total number of users dropped from 2,700 to just 1,000 over the same period.
This decline in on-chain activity poses a significant risk to LINK's price. A decrease in network usage can weaken demand for a token, potentially leading to a drop in value. Despite this threat, Chainlink's technical structure remains constructive, with buyers maintaining control through accumulation and a Parabolic Stop and Reverse (SAR) indicator.
However, the altcoin still faces a downside risk, particularly if it falls below $8.69. This level has become a key support zone, rejecting previous breakout attempts. CoinGlass' Liquidation Heatmap reveals a dense liquidity cluster near $8.10, which could attract price and potentially lead to a retracement rather than a full trend reversal.
