Chainlink's CCIP Surges Past $7B in Q2 Amid Growing Security Concerns
Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) saw significant growth in the second quarter of this year, with over $7 billion in token value migrating to its infrastructure. This represents a 353% increase in quarterly volume compared to the same period last year.
The surge in adoption can be attributed to several major projects shifting their assets to CCIP due to security concerns. Kraken, for example, selected CCIP for over $330 million in wrapped Bitcoin and future wrapped assets. Similarly, Mantle migrated over $2.5 billion in MNT, while KelpDAO moved $1.5 billion in rsETH after an exploit involving its previous bridge provider.
Legacy bridge replacements are becoming one of CCIP's strongest adoption drivers, revealing how security failures elsewhere can rapidly redirect valuable token ecosystems toward a standardized interoperability model with broader institutional ambitions across interconnected decentralized finance markets worldwide.
